The AMPS R/C Club ( Aeromodellers of Perrine )

Location : about 15 miles south of Miami , Florida

5 acres in the middle of 160 acres. The site is triangular in shape with the right angle at the junction of n/s and e/w. consequently we have both a north/south and an east/west runways. The bermuda grass is kept at a neat 1" level. The east/west runway has a pop-up sprinkler system that keeps the grass green all year long. Both runways are approx. 80' x 500' long. There is ample shelter for those occasional rainy days as well as the hot days of summer. Our club welcomes most all flyers. Helis and control line are regulars as well as the rest of the R/C family. The only restrictions are 10 frequencies that were given up to another club about 3 miles away. At present we have approx 140 members with flying taking place every day of the week. From Panama City - Hwy 98 travel east on Hwy 22 toward Wewahitchka , FL. 22 miles east of Hwy 98 turn left onto Rt. 22A (toward Parker Farm Campground and Dead Lakes Speedway) Field is 1/4 mile on left. Drive through camp ground and through gate in fence. You can't miss it. Field owner also operates full-hookup campground on site.

Most club members fly small and large sport planes. AMA Chartered club - will honor SFA insurance when not associated with a sanctioned event. Retirement community. Along with the usual golf courses, swimming pool, and gym, we have a private grass flying field (in the middle of a 12000 acre ranch with only one tree within a mile!) as a part of the community. Have been living here for over 2 years and love it! Our club currently has approx, 33 members.
